…is too many, a piece made in response to the ongoing loss of women’s lives in Australia to domestic and family violence.

The statistics rise every week, 1 is too many.

I made this neckpiece for each loss of a mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother and friend.

A life cut short and family changed forever. 1 is too many.

My practice as a contemporary jeweller, curator and educator explores cultural hybridity, place and social engagement. Violence against women is a significant social issue in Australia and globally.

As a woman and as a mother I feel compelled to express how devastating it is to hear and read each week of the loss of another woman. 1 is too many.
